Hey Sweeties! We all know times are hard right now. Some are out of work, some are overworked, some are wondering if they’re going to get sick, and some are worried about where their next meal will come from.
This is something we can all make it through if we do things the right way. As adults and functioning humans, there are things we can do to make it through this.
We’re Adults and We Should Act That Way…
We don’t need the President or anyone else to tell us what to do. We know we need to stay home and/or distance ourselves from others. We have the minds to do so, but some of us don’t want to do it. It takes everyone to make a difference. We were children once and many of us have children. We teach them right from wrong. We know what to and what not to do, but why are some of us acting like hardheaded children? Why do some of us choose not to take this situation seriously? Of course this is going to get worse before it gets better, but the level of severity can be lessened if we all do what we have to do.
- Stay at home
- When you’re out or in a place where small gatherings are allowed, keep your distance
- Keep your hands clean
- Limit the number of times you visit public places (this doesn’t mean buy everything off the shelves, leaving none for others)
- Take vitamins (All the paper products are being wiped out, but no one is building their immune systems?)
Being Fair
I have 5 children, a dog, and a fiance, so I always shop in bulk. I didn’t go in the store and buy all the toilet paper. Why? Because I was already prepared through normal shopping habits. So on a normal day, if you see me in the store buying all family packs of items or supersizes, thats because this is my everyday life. With what we’re going through, I went to the store like everyone else, but shopped like I only needed items for the week. Why? Because I thought about the people in my community. I knew I had some of these things and I didn’t buy what we didn’t need. Some of us are going into the store and fighting like its Black Friday, but why? Seeing videos posted on social media of people fighting over toilet paper is sad. Its shows that we can’t come together and can be extremely selfish. No one said the factories for paper production were being shut down. Things may be a little slower because like us, these workers have lives and family too. They have to take care of themselves in the same way we do. I am most grateful for anyone working to keep the shelves full, from factory, store, restaurant employees, delivery drivers, to healthcare workers. Right now these workers are our military.
The one thing we owe one another is to care and be careful. Think about others. One person can’t make the world a better place by themselves. We all need each other. Think about it, our life is like the Water Cycle. You know, that rotation of water we learned about in Science class? One part needs the other flow continuously.
